Frederick Finbar O'Donovan, Sr., age 74, of Carver, formerly of Norwell, died on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at his home. In loving memory of a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was born on September 21, 1940 in Bantry, County Cork, Ireland, a son of the late Bridget (nee Lehane) & Jeremiah O'Donovan. For many years, Frederick was a licensed union pipe fitter and plumber, working all around the state of Massachusetts as well as travelling around this country and Canada for work. He loved fishing, camping and reading. He was most happy entertaining his family and many friends. Frederick is survived by his beloved wife, Judith (Jones) O'Donovan; his loving children, David O'Donovan, Donna O'Donovan, Frederick F. O'Donovan, Jr. and Geraldine O'Donovan; his cherished granddaughter, Hailey O'Donovan; his dear siblings, Mary Jones of London, Margaret Gilhooly of Bantry, Michael O'Donovan, Sr. of South Boston, Amelia Hughes of Wales, Alec O'Donovan of Bantry and Emer Morris of England; his Godchildren, Cheryl Anne Smith and Michael O'Donovan, as well his 12 nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass at Saint Kateri Church, 126 South Meadow Road, South Plymouth, on Friday, August 14, 2015, at 10:00 AM. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472, www.alz.org
