Madeline Louise (Cohen) Litchfield, age 87, of Plymouth, formerly of Pembroke and Carver, died on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Plymouth Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Plymouth. Born in Pembroke, she was the daughter of the late John & Margaret (Keleher) Cohen. Madeline enjoyed spending time with her family and her cat, Sasha. For many years, she was a nanny for several families in the area. Madeline also worked at Target as a clerk. Madeline was the beloved wife of the late George Newton Litchfield; loving mother of George Peter Litchfield & his wife Laurie (Macdonald) Litchfield of Plymouth; dear sister of Mary Grubb of Littleton, North Carolina and the late Dorothea Moore, Margaret Hill, Ethel Mori, Enid Torrey, Alice Lunt, Walter Cohen, Arnold Cohen and Florence Ramsey. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins and Robert Macdonald & his wife Wendy of Duxbury. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street, (Route 14), Pembroke, on Friday, July 24, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church, 17 Church Street, Hanover, on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Centre Cemetery, Silver Street, Hanover. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Standish Humane Society, P.O. Box 634, Duxbury, MA 02331, www.standishhumane.org or to the charity of your choice.
