Michael H. McNeil, age 67, of Fall River, died on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Saint Anne's Hospital in Fall River. Born on April 9, 1947, he was the loving son of the former Police Chief Henry P. McNeil and Elizabeth E. McNeil of Duxbury. After graduating from Duxbury High School, Michael attended Central Missouri State College. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and then completed his Bachelor's degree at Northeastern University. He later worked as an investigator for the Massachusetts State Department of Veterans' Services. Michael is survived by his mother, Elizabeth E. McNeil; his daughters, Michelle McNeil and Christine Stedman; Christine's spouse, Mason Stedman; his seven grandchildren, Leianna Melde and her husband Christopher, Shayla Ferris, Mikayla Ferris, Slade Ferris, Maycena Stedman, Drake Stedman, Lily Stedman and a great-grandchild, Elliana Melde. He was predeceased by his sister, Jayne Phillips, and his father, Henry McNeil. He also leaves behind his sister, Beth McMahon and her husband Peter; his brother-in-law, Chris Phillips, many nieces and nephews, and his devoted companion of many years, Dorothy Borden. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 4:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 9:00 AM, followed by his funeral Mass at the Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury, at 10:00 AM. Interment services with military honors will follow at the Mayflower Cemetery, 774 Tremont Street, Duxbury.
