Obituary of Gerald A. Foote

Gerald A. Foote, age 88, of Duxbury, died on Monday, January 12, 2015, at Plymouth Crossings Assisted Living in Plymouth. Born in Waltham, he was the son of the late Jerome L. & Nellie L. (Harvey) Foote. For many years, Gerald was the Pastor of the Norwell Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Rockland and the interim Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Duxbury. He loved to run; running into his mid 80's, in 5K and 10K races as well as turkey trots. Gerald enjoyed backpacking, camping and nature. He was definitely a man of prayer and loved studying the bible. Gerald was also a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the beloved husband for 65 years of Lucille M. (Jolly) Foote; devoted father of Kaleen M. Fortunato & her husband James of Plymouth, Clarise D. Wasson & her husband William of Harvey, LA, Kevin G. Foote & his wife Nanette of Dighton, Keith D. Foote & his wife Cynthia of Selinsgrove, PA and Charlene K. Little & her husband Roger of Murrells Inlet, SC; loving grandfather of 18 and great-grandfather of 19. Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Duxbury, 2 Tremont Street, Duxbury, on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10:30 AM. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gerald's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
