Maureen A. (Docherty) Scott, of Kingston, died Dec. 30, at her home with her family. Beloved wife of William T. Scott. Loving mother of Karen Tremaine of CT, and Jennifer and her husband Jason Moder of St. Louis, MO. Maureen was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Mullen) Docherty, sister of Brian Docherty of Edinburgh and Eileen Braidwood of Glasgow, Scotland. Devoted grandmother of Alexis and Ashley Tremaine and Ethan and Elena Moder. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Maureen was educated at the Holyrood Secondary School and Jordanhill College of Education in Glasgow. She taught school in Scotland and Canada, and subsequently in the United States. Maureen was a loving wife and mother who was active in the community. She was a longtime member of the D.B.E. Mayfair Chapter. She enjoyed traveling throughout the world on both business and pleasure with her husband. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center and the staff of South Shore Hospice. Visiting hours from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rt. 106), Kingston, on Monday Jan. 5, from 4-8PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday Jan. 6 at the Shepherd Funeral Home at 1:00PM. Memorial donations in Maureen's memory may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center Development Office, 100 Cambridge St., Suite 1310, Boston, MA 02114.
