Obituary of Una Marie Cain

Una Marie Cain (Hansen), of Pembroke, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014, at the grand age of 91. She was the beloved mother of Jacqueline Cain, Sharon Crowley, and Donna Cain; cherished grandmother of Wanda Lieske, Jennifer Higgins, Rachel Crowley, Jonathan Higgins, Sarah Crowley, and Elynne Lockhart; and loving great-grandmother of Sophia Higgins and Jasper Higgins. Her devoted son-in-law, James Crowley was her "Dancing With The Stars" viewing partner for the last five years. Una was born in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and lived most of her life there before settling in Pembroke in 1996. Though she missed her friends and the warm sunshine of the Caribbean, Una formed close bonds with the friends she made in Massachusetts. She will be lovingly remembered for the kindness she showed to family and others. A memorial service will be held at Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street, (Route 14), Pembroke, on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at 3:00 PM. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beth Israel Deaconness Hospital Breast Cancer Center in Plymouth in Una's memory.
