Alice Beth Lloyd Turrell, died peacefully at her home that she shared with her family in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Monday, December 15, 2014. She was 92 years old. Mrs. Turrell was born in Albany, New York on September 16, 1922. She grew up in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Clifford and Elizabeth Lloyd. She graduated from the former Westbrook Junior College in Portland, Maine and worked as a medical secretary for many years. She was the wife of the late Rev. Stephen W. Turrell and supported him in his ministry in the church communities of Pittsfield, Grafton, Beverly and Duxbury, Massachusetts. She was a past member of the Women’s Fellowship at Pilgrim Church in Duxbury. She was the loving mother of Mark Turrell of Plymouth and the late Jonathan Turrell. Mrs. Turrell loved to travel and to read. Toward the end of her life, she read a book a day. She especially loved bird watching in her back yard. She loved the ocean. Her favorite place was Ogunquit, Maine where she would walk the Marginal Way and view the surf. Over the last few years, she looked forward to having lunch with her two close friends. Most of all, she loved being a mother and grandmother. In addition to her son Mark, Mrs. Turrell leaves her daughter-in-law, Sarah and four grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations may be given in her memory to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, Massachusetts 02360.
