Obituary of Sherman W. Poole

Sherman W. Poole, age 84, of Pembroke, died on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital in Brockton. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Guy & Edna (Bowman) Poole. For many years, Sherman worked in a warehouse as well as at Shaw Supermarket's warehouse in West Bridgewater. He was the recipient of the President's Call to Service Award in 2007 and was a longtime volunteer for the Pembroke Council on Aging. Sherman was the beloved husband of the late Avis (Cook) Poole and the late Barbara (Parlee) Poole; dear step-father of the late Claire A. Flowers & her surviving husband Ed of Mansfield. He is survived by many loving nephews, nieces and grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street, (Route 14), Pembroke, on Thursday, December 18, 2014, from 4:00-8:00 PM. Funeral and interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
