John Robertson Martin spirit was set free on November 29th at his home in Kingston. Jack was 80 years old. Jack was born in St. Louis to James Franklin and Sadie (Robertson) Martin in 1934, and raised in N. Hollywood, CA. He loved sports cars, especially his Singer, and in his youth he competed on racetracks around Southern California. Jack attended Hollywood High school and graduated from Massasoit Community College. He worked for many years as a tax auditor for the commonwealth of MA. He loved the ocean and enjoyed sailing the local waters. Jack had also been active in local youth hockey and baseball. He is survived by his wife Jane (O'Connor), his beloved children James and Brauna of Potomac, MD, Susan Martin and Joseph Martin of Kingston, and his cherished grandchildren Katie and John Baima of Allston, and Connor, Reilly, and Aidan Martin of Potomac, MD. His survivors also include his in laws Michael and Carol O'Connor of Falmouth, Patricia Prindle of Arlington, and Mary O'Connor of Kingston. He was predeceased by his brother James of Burbank, CA. Jack also leaves 7 nephews. The family would also like to thank healthcare workers Andy, and Erin at Beacon Hospice.
At Jack's request, a celebration of his life will be held this spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
