Helen M McCluskey - 102 Helen McCluskey, fun-loving and spirited woman, died peacefully with her family nearby on Monday at the age of 102. Born in 1912, she was the fourth of six children born to Michael D. and Cora Carroll of Providence RI. A graduate of Rhode Island College of Education, she began her career as an elementary school teacher. In 1944 she married her life-long companion and soul mate, Dr. John E. McCluskey of Manchester CT, and later fulfilled many administrative functions for his medical practice in Brockton, MA, where they lived until retiring to Duxbury MA in 1976. She is survived by two children, Mary McCaffrey who resides with her husband, Larry, in New York, NY, and John McCluskey who resides with his wife Robin in Duxbury MA, four grandchildren -Brigid McCaffrey of Los Angeles CA, Meghan McCluskey of Duxbury MA, Patrick McCluskey of Duxbury MA, Nora McCaffrey and her wife Helen Birney of Brooklyn NY, and one great granddaughter, Alexis McCaffrey Birney of Brooklyn NY. Deeply committed to her family and her Catholic faith, she brought special charm and extraordinary wit to all with whom she dealt. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be donated in her name to Cranberry Hospice, Plymouth, MA. Calling hours will be held Wednesday November 5, 2014 from 4-8pm at Shepherd Funeral Home 216 Main St. (Rte. 106) Kingston MA.Family and friends are wlcome to join us at the Funeral Home Thursday November 6th at 9am with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10am at Holy Family Church, Tremont St. Duxbury, MA. Interment at Mayflower Cemetery Tremont St., Duxbury, MA.
