Mary (Peterson) Moore of Duxbury, died Sept. 19, 2014. Beloved wife of the late George D. Moore, she was the loving mother of George C. Moore and his wife Ruth Ann of Hanover, Richard O. Moore and his wife Kathleen of Toms River, NJ and the late Russell Dwight Moore. Mary was predeceased by her two sisters, Esther Whitham and Caroline Runlett and two brothers, David Peterson and Ernest Peterson. Mary was grandmother to four grandchildren, Kristin, Jennifer, Jonathan and George Eric. Mary was born, raised and educated in Milton. She met her husband George at a church function in Everett and after a long distant courtship they married in 1942 and moved back to Milton in 1948. Mary was an active member in the Milton Women’s Club, Milton Garden Club as well as George and her being long time members of the First Congregational Church in Milton. Mary loved gardening, painting and she was a great cook. She was a loving wife, mother, homemaker and caretaker for Russell Dwight. Both Mary and George in their later years enjoyed traveling and summers at their Cape Cod home with their grandchildren. (Mum) will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known and loved her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the viewing on Monday the 22nd from 1:00-2:00 at the Shepherd Funeral Home on Main St. in Kingston, Ma. There will be a grave side service at 3:30 at the Milton Cemetery where Mary will be placed alongside her husband George and her son Russell Dwight Moore. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mary’s name to the Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana-Farber, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9165
