Obituary of Rose Wind Stone

Rose Wind Stone of Plymouth, a former social worker, died on September 16, 2014, at Stafford Hill in Plymouth. She was 90.
Predeceased by her husband, James J. O. Stone, and daughter, Patricia Wind Stone, she leaves a daughter, Ellen Stone Goodman (Ed) of Bloomington, IN, two sons, Bradford Stone (Theresa) of Darnestown, MD and William Stone, of Wareham, and three grandchildren, Peter and David Goodman, and Amelia Stone.
During her lifetime, she lived in Brockton, Hanover, Marshfield, Kingston and Plymouth.
She was born in Brockton, attended Abbot Academy, and earned a bachelor's degree from Wellesley College in 1946. In 1967 she received a master's degree from the Boston University School of Social Work. Prior to retirement, she was employed by the Whitman School District as a school adjustment counselor.
She was a member of ALTRUSA, MSPCC, and MSPCA and a tireless advocate in the mental health field.
Her enthusiasms included antique collecting, travel, music, and dogs.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 22nd at 11:00 A.M., at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Route 106), Kingston, followed by burial at the Winslow Cemetery, Marshfield.
