Obituary of Richard L. Lippard

Richard "Dick" L. Lippard, age 85, of Duxbury, died on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at his home. Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Lyman & Evelyn (MacKenzie) Lippard. Dick graduated from Westborough High School, Class of 1946. He served in both the National Guard and in the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Air Force. For over 30 years, Dick was employed with the Rockland Trust Bank, in the Plymouth and Duxbury locations. He was President of the Chamber of Commerce in Plymouth and was one of the original founders of the Duxbury Youth Football and was the First President of the Duxbury Grid Iron Club. Dick was also a longtime mason and a member of the Kiwanis organization. Dick was the beloved husband for 60 years to Trudie (Phillips) Lippard; loving father of Jody Holmes & her husband Ed of Marshfield and Rick Lippard & his wife June of Duxbury; devoted grandfather of Matthew Holmes & his wife Aksana, Meri Lippard, Ricky Lippard and great-grandfather of Alexandra Elizabeth Holmes. Family and Friends are invited to attend the Graveside services with military honors at the Mayflower Cemetery, 774 Tremont Street, Duxbury, on Friday, August 29, 2014, at 11:00 AM.
