Gove, George Edward Jr.
Of Duxbury MA, formally of Kingston MA, died peacefully at the age 89 on August 13, 2014. He was born on November 18, 1924 to the late George E. and Delena (McLeod) Gove in Middleborough, MA. George graduated from Middleborough High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from Ohio University. He was a decorated WWII Army veteran who served in the Pacific Theater and participated in the Battle of Biak. His wife of 60 years Ruth Haselton Gove predeceased him earlier this year. He was an avid gardener, reader and interested in history and genealogy.
He worked for Brown Brothers Harriman and Company in Boston, MA for over 30 years. George is survived by his three children, Sarah Wilsterman and her husband Eric of Boston and Chatham, MA, Ged and his wife Wendy of Holliston, MA and Nathaniel and his wife Amy of Princeton, MA. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren.
A private graveside service for the family will take place at a later date at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury, MA. The family is requesting that memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
