Obituary of Anthony M. McAlear

Anthony M McAlear Jr, of Pembroke, died August 7, 2014 while in the loving care and comfort of his family. He was 77 years old. Beloved husband of the late Ellen (Quinn) McAlear, he is survived by Anthony M McAlear III and Tracey of Pembroke, Robin McAlear and Kevin Welsh of Plainville, Terry Cockey and her husband CAPT Michael K. Cockey USN, McLean VA, James McAlear and Susan Cvemmel of Marshfield and Mary McAlear of Pembroke, Stephen McAlear and wife Joanie of Norton. Dear brother of the late Thomas McAlear, James McAlear and the late Priscilla (McAlear) Villa. Loving grandfather of Ben, Brenda, Sean, Emily, Katie, Patrick, Quinn, and Griffin. Tony was a veteran of the US Army. Tony had a long career as a business executive and for the last 25 years , he was a well respected Thai Chi Master who taught at many senior centers across the South Shore and a reading instructor specializing in helping dyslexics learn to read. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday August 10th from 4-8 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home , 7 Mattakeesett St. (Rt. 14) Pembroke. A funeral mass will be held on Monday August 11th at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 1 Kent St. in Scituate. Internment will be at St Mary’s Cemetery in Scituate.
