Nancy,
Sorry to hear about he passing of Bill. I too remember the times playing mixed doubles. But I also remember Bill for his interest and compassion regarding the Palestinians under the brutal Israeli occupation. Bless him.

So sorry to hear about Bill. I remember him most playing tennis at the Yacht Club. He had such classic strokes especially his serve which I so admired as I struggled to keep up. Always knew he was Deerfield Academy.

Dear Riegel Family,
Bill was my friend, mentor, sounding-board, cheerleader, adviser, confidant… for two decades. My life was far richer for having been his friend. He always said he was just “serving penance” for his days in forest and paper industry, but we had much fun together on field trips to the North Woods. I will sorely miss him, but I count myself so lucky to have known him.

My most heartfelt sympathy to the Riegel family. I lived in Holland Township, NJ, when Riegel Paper was thriving and Riegel Ridge Community Center was in full swing. My father, Robert, was a maintenance worker there. Through the Community Center so much was done for the youth in the area. There were free Christmas, Easter, and Halloween parties; summer camp; swimming pool; dance; and all kinds of sports activities. To this day, I still rave about the good times I grew up with there. The paper mills were a great place to work. I am so thankful for Mr. Riegel and all he and his family did for others. May he rest in peace, because he really deserves it! May your memories of him bring you peace and joy.

Dear Nancy and family,
As loving spouses we have both been struggling for sometime, but now know that both Bill and Elizabeth (June 7, 2014)are beyond the 'pain and suffering.' And, now the burden has passed to us during the transition to 'new beginnings.'
What can one say about Bill, but he was a true gentlemen whose family, acquaintances and friends held him in the highest esteem, attributes which he in part acquired from Deerfield, missed my 60th on June 7th.
With deep respect and fond memory to your extended family and you, Orme
