Paul R. Byrnes, age 75, of Carver, formerly of Plympton and Brockton, died on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Plymouth. Born in Brockton on November 9, 1938, Paul was the son of the late Raphael & Gertrude (Carlson) Byrnes. He graduated from Brockton High School, Class of 1956. Paul enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy for several years. Upon his discharge from the U.S. Navy, Paul worked for the Howard Johnson's Restaurant in Framingham and then at the Adamation Company, formerly in Newton. He owned and operated his own business, P. Byrnes Service, a commercial appliance repair company, formerly in Plympton, for many years until his retirement. In later years, Paul worked for JUDCO Inc., of Duxbury, as a bus driver for special needs passengers. Paul was the beloved husband of Patricia (Adamo) Byrnes; devoted father of Paul Byrnes, Jr. & Katy of Essex Junction, VT, Ken Byrnes & Sharon of Dennisport, Tim Byrnes & Eileen of Florida and Ron Byrnes & Trish of Carver; loving grandfather of Matthew, Eric, Danny, David, Sarah, Jaclyn, Caitlan, Alexis, Kiley, Joshua, Jared and great-grandfather of Jacob, Emma and Madison and dear brother of Gertrude Ciancarelli of East Bridgewater and the late Ronald Byrnes. Memorial visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 4:00-8:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, starting at 9:30 AM. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 AM, for Graveside Services at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Bennington Boulevard, Bourne at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Paul's memory may be made to Autism Speaks, Attention: Web Gifts, 1060 State Road, 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540 (on memo line, please indicate: WEB GIFT), www. autismspeaks.org
