Marjorie F. Cadenhead, 88, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in Spokane, WA and was born in Brockton, MA to William O. and Cora Cannon. She is survived by her two sons, Harley S. Cadenhead, Jr. (Elaine) of Wauna, WA and Thomas Cadenhead (Solae) of Oberlin, OH; three daughters, Susan L. Smith (Dave) of Spokane, WA, Carol L. Schneider (Dennis) of Cottage Grove, OR and Louise C. Suppes (Rich) of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Mildred Knowles of Norfolk, VA; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harley S. Cadenhead, Sr., in 2006. Marjorie was a resident of Kingston, MA for 60 years and she served the town in many roles, including that of Selectman between the years of 1992 and 2000. A graduate of Bridgewater State College in Elementary Education, she was a longtime owner and teacher at her school, Sunny Acres Kindergarten and then Nursery School. She then used that knowledge to begin her town service by being a member of the Silver Lake Regional School board in 1979. Her favorite times were when she served on the town’s 275th committee. A reception will be held at the Beal Meeting House, 222 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at 6:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery, Green Street, Kingston, on Friday, August 15, 2014, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Harley and Marjorie Cadenhead Scholarship Fund, Kingston Educational Fund, 26 Evergreen Street, Kingston, MA 02364.
