Richard “Dick” Arthur Duncan, 70 of Carver, Massachusetts, passed away, Sunday, May 11, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Richard was born March 8th, 1944 in Dorchester, raised inNorth Quincy, Massachusetts to George and Julia (Sears) Duncan. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1961, enlisted in the Air Force in 1962 and served in the Vietnam War. In March 1967 he began working for Gillette Safety Razor Corp where he retired in December 1996. Richard enjoyed golfing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his beloved wife Janet, his 3 daughters, April Kroll of Marion, Amy Cloutier of Rhode Island and Cynthia Duncan of Carver; 8 grandchildren Kylie, Kobe, Jackson, Brenden, Sara, Sam, Megan and Ben; 4 sisters Julia Allen of Florida, Jessie Wilkinson of Quincy, Donna Duncan of Washington, Helen Duncan of Quincy; 3 brothers Joseph Duncan of Brockton, James Duncan of Florida, and David Duncan of Maryland; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; first wife Patricia (Smith) Duncan; mother and father-in-law Robert and Verna Campbell; and 1 brother George Duncan. A time of gathering will be held on Wednesday, May 14th from 4-8:00 PM at Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (rt. 58) Carver. Funeral services for Richard will be at the Shepherd Funeral Home on Thursday, May 15th at 10:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at MA National Cemetery, in Bourne, Massachusetts. Memorial donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project and/or Cranberry Hospice of Plymouth.
