Obituary of Joseph P. Dellapi

Joseph P. Dellapi, age 76, of Pembroke, formerly of Duxbury, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 14, 2014, at the BID-Plymouth Hospital in Plymouth.
He was born in Boston, the son of the late Joseph A. and Ardita (Bevelaqua) Dellapi. Joe was a truck driver for St. Johnsbury Trucking Company for 32 years. He was also a dispatcher and call firefighter for the Duxbury Fire Department. For the last 15 years, he was a driver for the Village of Duxbury. Joe was also a member of the Pembroke Sportsmen Club. Joe was an amazing, caring man who loved his family and friends very much.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean (Maria) Dellapi. He is also survived by his two children; Kathryn (Dellapi) Tobey and son-in-law, Kevin Tobey of Fairfax, VT and Joseph P. Dellapi, Jr. of Florence, SC. He was the proud grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren; Mariah Dellapi and Tucker Dellapi both of Florence, SC and Mikayla Tobey of Fairfax, VT. He was the brother of Robert Dellapi and his wife Minna of Teaticket, MA, and brother-in-law to Robert Maria and his wife Nancy of Duxbury, MA.
Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, from 4:00-7:00 PM.
Funeral services at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 9:00 AM, followed by his funeral Mass at the Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury, at 10:00 AM.
Interment services will be private.
