Obituary of Richard T. Wills

Richard T. Wills, of Pembroke, died January 30, 2014, at Brigham and Women's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Sharon Minott.
Born in Melrose, son of James N. and Eleanor M. Wills, he lived his entire life in the town of Pembroke. A graduate of Silver Lake Regional High School, he worked at the Hingham Shipyard for six months prior to his employment by the Town of Pembroke as a radio dispatcher for the Police and Fire Departments. After passing the civIl service exam he took the position of permanent intermittent police officer and then patrolman. In 1968 he was promoted to Sergeant followed by the promotion to Lieutenant in 1976. He served as acting Chief on several occasions and retired in 1993.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Wills is survived by two sons, Richard T. Wills, Jr of Kennebunkport, ME, Scott C. Wills of Halifax, and a daughter Faith A. Wills of Greenfield. He also has five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 8th at 10:00 AM, at the Halifax Congregational Church. Interment will follow at the Central cemetery in Halifax, located directly behind the church.
