Vernon Paul Skillings Jr, of Pembroke, passed away on January 4, 2014 at the age of 67. He graduated from Brockton High School in 1965. He was a Vietnam-era veteran having served in the Air Force. After serving he worked at Sharon Box and Lumber for many years before owning his own business, Tile Concepts in Kingston. He thoroughly enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, attending air shows and spending time with his family. He was the son of Vernon Paul Skillings Sr. and Dororthy Lillian (Ward) of Brockton. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Litchfield), his children, Matthew of Pembroke, Michael and his wife Anna of Plymouth, Kathleen of Hanover and Jennifer of Arlington, as well as three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Judith Graham of Kingston, David Skillings and his companion Pam McGuire of Abington, and Mark and Teri Skillings of Littleton. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11th from 2-5pm at Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt 14) Pembroke.
