Obituary of Gilda Ann McCann

Gilda Ann (DeChellis) McCann, age 91, of Pembroke Massachusetts formerly of Dorchester passed away peacefully on November 5, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Gilda was born February 4, 1922 to John and Margaret DeChellis and was the loving sister of Amleto DeChellis, and the Late Primo, Anthony, and Mario DeChellis. Gilda grew up and was educated in the Dorchester section of Boston. She was married to the late Joseph G. McCann, her true love. Her family was the foundation of her life, especially her four children, nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, who brought her so much joy. She will be sorely missed but will live on in our hearts forever. Gilda was the devoted and loving mother of Joanna Sullivan and her late husband William J. Sullivan, Joseph G. McCann Jr. and his wife Sara of Pembroke; James J. McCann and his wife Rita of San Diego California, Christine Downey and her husband Daniel of Plymouth and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 8th from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (Rt. 106) Kingston. A funeral mass will be held on Sat, November 9th at 10:00 AM at St. Thecla's Church, 145 Washington St (Rt. 53), Pembroke. Interment will be at the Center cemetery in Pembroke.
