Obituary of Doris Simonds

Doris (Cashwell) Simonds, age 85, of Kingston, died on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. She was born and raised in North Carolina, the daughter of the late McKinley L. & G. Mae (Butler) Cashwell. Doris was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Simonds, Sr.; devoted mother of Linda L. Simonds & her wife Robbin Fuqua of Alabama, Robert E. Simonds, Jr. & his wife Patricia of Plymouth, Patricia M. Newton & her husband Fred of Plymouth and Paul S. Simonds & his wife Mary of Cohasset; loving grandmother of Jeanette, Lee-Ann, Daniel, Melanie, Amy, Benjamin, Katherine, Jennifer, Nicholas and great-grandmother of 11; dear sister of Susan Atkinson of North Carolina, Clayton Cashwell of Pennsylvania, Linda Murphy of Pembroke and the late Annie Bedsole, McKinley Cashwell, Jr., Jennings Cashwell, Rudolph Cashwell and Eugene Cashwell. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Monday, October 21, 2013, from 4:00-8:00 PM. Her funeral services will be held at the Mayflower Congregational Church, 207 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Bennington Boulevard, Bourne, at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Mayflower Congreagtional Church, 207 Main Street, Kingston, MA 02364.
