Eleanor "Jean" (Reyenger) Dwyer, of Kingston, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2013, at Bay Path in Duxbury, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma.
Jean was born in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School, Class of 1949. After her late husband's retirement from the U.S. Air Force, they settled in Kingston. After her children were grown, she held various positions, ending with retirement from the Jordan Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, reading, word puzzles, and trips to Twin River and Foxwoods. She also enjoyed watching football and the Boston Red Sox.
Jean was the daughter of the late Theodore & Rachel (DeYoung) Reyenger; beloved wife of 56 years to the late Lawrence D. Dwyer; loving mother of James F. Dwyer & his wife Theresa of Sutton, Thelma J. Silvey & her husband Kenneth of Kingston and Lawrence D. Dwyer & his wife Pamela of Chesapeake, VA; cherished grandmother of Eddie, Kevin, Dustin, Danielle, Casey and the late Mark; great-grandmother of James and Lilly; dear sister of the late Richard Reyenger, the late Theodore Reyenger & his surviving wife Arlene of Rockland and the late Robert Reyenger & his surviving wife Florence of Quincy. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and life long friends, Fran Colby and Barbara Clain.
Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
Her funeral service will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at 10:30 AM.
Interment services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, www.cancer.org or to the charity of your choice.
