Kenneth H. Traverse, of Pembroke, passed away on September 11, 2013. He was 94 years old. Mr. Traverse is a veteran of the US Army, and served during World War II. He is a graduate of the High School of Commerce in Boston. He retired after 35 years at the Boston Navy Yard and worked in electrical gunnery. He later went to work for Ritchie Navigation for over 20 years. The love of his life was his wife Hilda who he married in 1939. Together they shared a love for animals, wildlife, as well as long drives through the countryside. Kenneth loved his family, and there life will not be the same without him. Beloved husband of the late Hilda W. Traverse. Loving father of Donna Lee and her husband Tom Anderson of Marshfield. Cherished grandfather of Thomas Anderson and his wife Jennifer of Hanover, Timothy Anderson and his wife Gricelda of TX, Tracy Anderson of Pembroke, and Trudy Geloran and her husband David of NH. Great grandfather of William and Nolan Anderson. Brother of Richard Traverse of CA, and the late George Traverse, Louis Traverse, and Virginia Miller. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 16th from 5-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke. A funeral service will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, on Tuesday, September 17th at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at the Center cemetery in Pembroke. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: St. Jude Hospital at www.stjude.org and/or Old Colony Hospice at www.oldcolonyhospice.org.
