Daniel W. Baker, of Duxbury, formerly of Foxboro, passed away on August 29, 2013. He was 79 years old. Mr. Baker is a graduate of Northeastern University, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was born and raised in Braintree, and is a graduate of Braintree High School, class of 1951. He was a member of the conservation commission in Foxboro, and Duxbury for a total of 21 years, and active in many other Duxbury Committees. Mr. Baker served in the US Air Force for 4 years during the Korean War. He retired in 1995 from M.I.T. after 40 years as an engineer in the Nuclear Science Lab.
Mr. Baker was an avid sportsman and enjoyed scuba diving, skeet and trap shooting, and earned his private pilots license at the age of 60.
Beloved husband of Dorothy Baker. He leaves two sons; Douglas of N. Attleboro, and Donald N.Attleboro. Four grandchildren; Melissa, David, Amanda, Taylor, and the late Michael Baker. Brother of Robert of Dennis.
