Obituary of Mary Carvalho

Mary "Doris" (Bouchard) Carvalho died on September 2, 2013. Doris was born in Plymouth and was a graduate of Plymouth High School Class of 1942. After marriage she moved to Kingston where she raised her family and was the unofficial "Mayor" of Ring Road for over 65 years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and gardening and found the most joy in being with her family. She was an avid butterfly and bird watcher for many years, especially at her cottage on Loon Lake in Plymouth, NH. Daughter of John and Floreda (Dube) Bouchard, she was the beloved wife of the late Abel L. Carvalho. She is survived by her children, Steven W. Carvalho and his wife Andrea of Crockett, CA; Donald J. Carvalho and his wife, Gloria of Kingston; Audrey J. Carvalho also of Kingston; and Michael A. Carvalho and his wife, Lisa of Pittsfield, MA. She also leaves six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a niece and two nephews, along with many friends. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 5th from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street (Rt. 106), Kingston. Funeral services from Shepherd at 9:00 am Friday, followed by a 10:00 am funeral mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 270 Main Street, Kingston. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jordan Hospital Cancer Center, 275 Sandwich Street, Plymouth, MA 02360.
