Winifred M. (Gallivan) McAuliffe, aged 93, formerly of Duxbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2013. Born in Jamaica Plain, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Gallivan and Catherine Duffy. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene V. McAuliffe. Survivors include her eight children; known to her as "Buddy, Paul, Larry, Marie, Stephen, Terry, Trish and John”. She was the proud “Oma” of fifteen grandchildren. She was predeceased by five siblings; Kay, Helen, Mary, Rita and Ronnie. Win is survived by four siblings; Dick, Frank, Eileen and Stephen. Win was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who adored her family. She had many interests including Church, cooking, music, bridge, book club, brass rubbings, travel and needlework. The family will receive friends at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street, (Route 14), PEMBROKE, on Thursday, August 29, 2013, from 4:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services at the Shepherd Funeral Home, PEMBROKE, on Friday, August 30, 2013, at 10:00 AM, followed by her funeral Mass at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury, at 11:00 AM. Graveside burial at the Mayflower Cemetery, 774 Tremont Street, Duxbury will immediately follow the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
