Mary Barbara (Cummings) Migre, age 90, of Pembroke died on August 14, 2013. Barbara, as she was called by her family and friends, lived a wonderful fulfilled life. She was the wife of George Migre for 66 years. They met at Sargent’s Restaurant in Norwell during World War II. After the war, like so many other couples, they were married and built a cozy home in Pembroke where they raised their children. Barbara leaves behind a daughter, Kathleen Bergeron and her husband Lee, and also a son, George Migre Jr., and his wife Geraldine Migre. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Geraldine Bellas, John Bergeron, Laura Osborne, Thomas Bergeron, Lorna King, Lindsay Migre and Emily Migre, as well as 7 great grandchildren. Daughter of the late Charles Cummings and Agnes (Clarkin) Cummings, she spent her childhood in Braintree and then Norwell .Barbara and her 10 siblings lived on a farm during the depression. She spoke often of all the fun she had with her sisters and brothers and felt truly blessed to have come from a large loving family. She is survived by her sisters Audrey Rice of Norwell, Margaret Rice of Quincy, Dorothea Griffin of Hanover, Catherine Wheeler of Rockland, and Genevieve Paulding of Plymouth. She was predeceased by her sisters Agnes Rossetter, Norma Whithers and her brothers Richard Cummings, Charles Cummings, and Edward Cummings. Barbara was the most loving and giving person to all of her family and friends. She showed unconditional love and could be counted on to help anyone in need. As a homemaker she spent many hours sewing treasured projects for so many people. She could sew, quilt, needlepoint, knit, embroider, braid and hook rugs, etc. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, August 19th at theShepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street , Pembroke. A service will be held on Tuesday, August 20th at 11:00 A.M. at the Shepherd Funeral Home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, if you choose to make a donation, please make it to the charity of your choice or simply do a kindness for someone.
