Armand A. Poirier, of Carver, formerly of Brockton, passed away on August 3, 2013 at the age of 88. Armand was a decorated World War II Army veteran, and was a Silver Star recipient. He was a member of the New England Carpenters Union for 41 years, and took great pleasure in helping family and friends with countless building and remodeling projects. He was a devoted Catholic, a longtime communicant of St. Peters Church as well as serving as an usher for many years. Armand was an avid golfer, and longtime member of the Halifax Country Club. He loved all New England sports teams, traveling, dancing, playing horseshoes and many casino trips. Husband of the late Helen (Yesucevitz) Poirier, and the late Genevieve (Lowe) Poirier. Loving father of Linda Tetrault and her husband James of Randleman, NC, Donna Daylor of Carver, and Richard and his wife Janet Poirier of Middleboro. Armand is also survived by eight grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 7th from 4-7:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (Rt. 58) Carver. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter's church, 86 Court St, Plymouth, on Thursday, August 8th at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at the MA National cemetery in Bourne.
