Obituary of William C. Cyrus

William C. Cyrus, of Halifax formerly of Weymouth, passed away on May 24, 2013 at the Brockton VA Hospital at the age of 85. Beloved husband of 62 years to Marie (McDougall) Cyrus. Loving father to Judy Cyrus and her husband David Howard of Mashpee, JoAnne O'Connor and her husband John of Hanover, William Cyrus Jr and his wife Patricia of Sandwich, Janice Rennie and her husband David of Hudson, NH, Stephen Cyrus and his wife Marie of Halifax, Robert Cyrus and his wife Maureen of Hanover, and Joseph Cyrus and his wife Jessica of Halifax. Loving "Grampy" to 17 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Mr. Cyrus was born in Roxbury, MA but grew up in NH where he entered in the service during World War II. He was a Sergeant in the Army/Air Force. After leaving the service he worked for many years at Armour Co. as a truck driver, and was a member of the Teamsters Local 25. Bill enjoyed gardening and was an avid Red Sox fan. He especially loved family get together's and spending time with all of his grand kids.
