Frederick J. Nava, 60, of Kingston, died at his home on April 28. He was the son of the late Fred E. and Ellen Nava. Beloved husband of Christine (Collins) Nava. Loving father of Stephen Nava of Kingston. Brother of Diane Bird of Plymouth and Mary Katherine Bird of Oxford, MA. Son in law of Curtis S. and Phyllis A. Collins of Marshfield. He was the step father of the late Darin J. Fantoni. He is also survived by his daughter in law Shelley Fantoni, his step grandson Darin J. Fantoni, and many other family members and close friends. Fred was the owner and president of the excavation company Fred E. Nava & Son Inc. for 40 years. He was the horseshow manager of New England Morgan Horse Show, Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show, Southern States Morgan Horse Show, Far West Morgan Horse Show, and Jubilee Morgan Horse Show. Fred was an inductee in the New England Morgan Horse Assoc. Hall of Fame and the American Morgan Horse Assoc. Hall of Fame. He was a long time supporter of the town of Kingston. Fred was also the president of the Evergreen Cemetery Board of Directors, and a founding member of the MA Snow and Ice Contractors Assoc. Funeral from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., Rt. 106, Kingston, on Fri. May 3 at 9:00AM, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, Kingston at 10:00AM. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Kingston. Visiting hours on Thurs. May 2 from 4-8PM.
