Arthur W. Bernier, 91, of Halifax for the past 10 years, passed away on April 9, 2013 after a period of declining health. He served in the U.S. Army, and was an ex POW captured in Northern France during World War II. Arthur is a retiree of the MBTA, and was an avid gardener, and enjoyed watching wrestling matches. Arthur was husband to the late Betty L. Bernier (Thorn) for 64 years. Father of John F. Bernier and his wife Rossana of S. Carolina, Ronald L. Bernier and his liife partner Ronald A. Godfrin of Rhode Island, Debra A. Scioscia (Bernier) and her husband Paul of Halifax. Brother of Patsy Potter. Grandfather of Christine Bernier, John Bernier, Eric Sciosca, and Brian Sciosca. Great grampie to Brian Paul Scioscia. Arthur is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 11th at 11:00 AM at Central Cemetery in Halifax.
