Obituary of Walter Fleming Earl

Walter Fleming Earl, 80, of Duxbury, died on April 6. He was a 56 year veteran of the automobile industry, beginning his career with Chevrolet Motor Division in Detroit, MI, before moving to Massachusetts. In 1983 he purchased a Chevrolet dealership in Bridgewater, MA. Walter Earl Chevrolet was prominent in the area and noted for the sale of Corvettes. In 2000 Walter was named auto dealer of the year from Massachusetts, an annual event sponsored by Time Magazine. He retired in 2004.
Walter is survived by his wife, Margaret, and children Martin and Luisa Nobre Earl of Coimbra, Portugal, and Andrew and Mary Jane York of Durham, NC; a grandson Samuel York of Chicago; brother and sister in law James and Valerie Earl of Hingham and a niece Cathleen Kelley of Rockport.
Visiting hours from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., Rt. 106, Kingston, on Wed. April 10 from 4-7PM. Interment is private.
