Violet (Lopes) Netto, age 102, of Plymouth, formerly of South Carver and Pawtucket, RI, died on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at her home. She was born in Carver, the daughter of the late Manuel & Mary (Fernandes) Lopes. Violet was a lifelong member of the Saint John The Baptist Club of Carver; member of Saint Peter's Women Guild; member of DAV and was a Gold Star Wife. Violet was the beloved wife of the late John Netto; devoted mother of Joseph Fontes & his wife Rita of Sharon, Maria Fontes of Plymouth, Patricia Chor of New Bedford, Joan Fontes of Plymouth, Henry Fontes & his wife Rita of Edinburg, TX, Manuel Fontes of Plymouth, Richard Fontes & his wife Elaine of Natick and Frank Fontes & his wife Judith of Carver; loving grandmother of 24, great-grandmother of 38, great great-grandmother of 4 and great great great-grandmother of 4; dear sister of the late Virginia Perry and dear aunt of Barbara Curtis of California. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 2:00-5:00 PM. Funeral services at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, on Monday, March 25, 2013, at 9:00 AM, followed by her funeral Mass at Saint Peter's Church, 86 Court Street, Plymouth at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery, Route 58, Carver. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Violet's memory may be made to the Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
