Obituary of Anastasia V. Colligan

Anastasia Valerie (Hemeon) Colligan, who was known as Ann, died February 14, 2013. She was 92 years old. Ann was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She relocated to the Quincy, Weymouth and Braintree area as a child, and later lived in Weymouth, Duxbury and Kingston. She worked for many years in Quincy in the restaurant business and as a beautician.
Ann is survived by seven children: Robert E. Young and his wife Judith, of Middleboro; James A. Young and his wife, Jeanne, of Plymouth; J. Russell Young and his wife, Colleen, of Fargo, North Dakota; Susan C. Pieri, and her husband, Gerry, of Green Harbor; Thomas F. Colligan, Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Punta Gorda, Florida; Terrence M. Colligan, and his wife, Diane, of Brookfield, New Hampshire; and Sean D. Colligan and his companion, Kristen, of North Weymouth. She was also the mother of the late Patricia A. Rutherford, and her husband Wayne, now of Dedham.
She is also survived by 4 of brothers and sisters: Ronald Hemeon and his wife, Kay, of Braintree; Melvin Hemeon and his wife, Karen, of Quincy; James Hemeon and his wife, Rose, of Manchester, New Hampshire; and Joan Moore and her husband, John, of Goffstown, New Hampshire. She was also the sister of the late Maryrita E. Simon and John Hemeon, both of Weymouth and Basil Hemeon of Florida.
Ann was happiest in the company of her very large family. Her family included 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and shopping.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 20th from 4-7:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (Rt. 106) Kingston. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 21st at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church is Duxbury. Interment will be at the Ashdod cemetery in Duxbury.
