Barbara L. Batchelor, 81, Plymouth Formerly of Kingston Barbara L. Batchelor (McConaghy) passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at her home in Plymouth, Massachusetts with family by her side. Born in Boston and raised in North Quincy, she was the daughter of Charles and Alice McConaghy. She moved to Kingston with her husband to raise a family. They lived there for 32 years and resided in Plymouth for the past 20 years. Mrs. Batchelor retired from South Shore Housing as an Inspection Office Assistant and was previously employed by Spencer Press, Mid Cape Center, and Halliday Lithograph Corporation of Hanover. Mrs. Batchelor enjoyed walking the beach, boating, gardening, snowmobiling, and spending time with her family. Wife of the late Arthur H. Batchelor, they celebrated 47 years of marriage. Mrs. Batchelor is lovingly remembered by her five children: Marsha McCosh, of Plymouth; Charles Batchelor, of Plymouth; Jeffrey Batchelor, of Carver; Mark Batchelor, of Kingston; Warren Batchelor, of Carver; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. All are welcome to attend visiting hours on Mon. February 4, 2013 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rte 106) Kingston. A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. on Tues. at Shepherd Funeral Home and a private internment will take place on Wed. at the MA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial donations be made to: Cranberry Hospice and Palliative Care, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, Massachusetts. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Cranberry Hospice.
