Obituary of Edmund E. Rudis

Edmund E Rudis (91) of Hanson passed away peacefully on January 13th after a brief illness at the home
of his Niece, JoAnn Harper and her husband Norman Robertson in Plymouth.
Born in Bridgewater March 11, 1921, he was the son of Michael and Theodora (Bazadrger) Rudis.
He was educated in Bridgewater and in 1940 enlisted in the Army of the United States.
During WWII he served in Panama, Trinidad, India & China with Company K, 475th Infantry, in the Machine Gun Co. He was discharged in 1945 and returned home, where in 1947 he met and married his wife Aune (Isaacson)Rudis. They lived in Hanson and were married for 54 years when she passed away in 2001.
Edmund worked for Walkover Shoe in Bridgewater for many years until his retirement.
He was a longtime member of the Hanson Rod & Gun Club, The National Rifle Association and the VFW.
He also served on the Conservation Committee and Cultural Committee for the Town of Hanson.
In his later years, he was active in the Hanson Senior Center where he learned to paint in watercolor. He was also an avid fisherman.
Predeceased by his Sister, Amelia, he is Survived by his Cousin, Edward Rudis of Stoughton and his children, Mark and Debbie. Never having any children of his own, he embraced the Niece and Nephews of his Wife. They include: JoAnn Harper and her husband Norman Robertson of Plymouth and JoAnn's daughter Julie Harper of Brockton.

A graveside service will be held March 11, 2013 with burial in Pembroke.

Without them the last months of Edmund's life would not have been so peaceful.
