Margaret H. Marr, 94, of Duxbury, died January 5, 2013 at the Jordan Hospital. Margaret was born in Sioux Falls, SD. At age five, her family moved to Cleveland Heights, OH. She and her brother and sister spent every summer in Sioux Falls, which she remembers as the happiest part of her childhood. She graduated from Connecticut College in 1940, where she was a psychology major. Margaret was a resident of Duxbury for over seventy years.
She was the beloved wife of 46 years of the late Colin D. Marr. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Kearney and her husband William of Duxbury; Sheila Driscoll and her husband David of Winchester; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Hart of Burlington, VT. Her brother Harry T. Schultz of Hanover, NH predeceased her.
Margaret was a reading specialist and taught students in Duxbury Public Schools for several years. Upon her retirement, she volunteered at the Cardinal Cushing School in Hanover.
A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St., Duxbury, on Sat. Jan. 12 at 11:00AM, followed by burial in Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury. Memorial donations may be made to the Jordan Hospital, 275 Sandwich St., Plymouth, MA 02360.
