Obituary of Eileen Young

Eileen (Evoy) Young, age 90, of Carver, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born and raised in Haricot, Newfoundland, the oldest of 12 children of Mary Violet (King) and Andrew Evoy. She enjoyed gardening, the beach, knitting, hiking and shopping. Eileen was the beloved wife of Harvey Young for 59 years; devoted mother to Linda Davenport of Carver, Kenneth Young of New Hampshire and the late Cheryl Welch; loving grandmother to Kevin Davenport, William Davenport & his wife Meghan, Andrew Welch, Timothy Welch, Courtney Welch, Keith Young, Kenneth Young, Jacquelyn Doucette Bush, Jennifer Wayne and the late Brian Davenport and great-grandmother to infant Declan William Davenport; mother-in-law to William Davenport and Robert Welch; dear sister to Hannah Harvey, Elsie Eddy, Edna Folk, Ned Evoy and Jerry Evoy. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, (Route 58), Carver, on Wednesday, November 14, from 3:00-6:00 PM, with a prayer service at 6:15 PM. Interment will be private.
