Sr. Rosalie Deck, C.D.P., 83, of Kingston, died on November 9, 2012. Born in Ft. Wayne, IN on August 9, 1929, she is the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Gladys Deck. Sr. Rosalie was the oldest of five siblings: Sister Rosemonde of Kingston, Virginia of WI, Dolores of CA, and Fr. Marion Deck TOR of PA. Sr. Rosalie entered into the community in 1947 from St. Catherine's Church in Pittsburgh. Sr. Rosalie came from a musical family, and along with her sister, Sister Rosemonde, performed musically since she was a child. After joining the community she entered the field of education, receiving a B.S. in Music Education and a Master's of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Sr. Rosalie taught for almost forty years at Sacred Heart High School in Kingston, MA. Sr. Rosalie and her Sister won international acclaim as concert artists with symphony orchestras, on recordings, television and radio throughout the U.S. and many other countries. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 12th, at the Providence House, 363 Bishop's Highway, Kingston from 2-5 and 6-7:30PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 13th at 3:30 PM at Sacred Heart High School Chapel, 399 Bishop's Highway, Kingston. Interment will be in Our Lady of Divine Providence cemetery, Kingston. Donations may be made in Sr. Rosalie's memory to the Sisters of the Divine Providence, 363 Bishop's Highway, Kingston, MA 02364.
