Catherine C. (Hughes) Armstrong, 70 born in Boston passed on 10/30 after a long illness. She celebrated 45 years of marriage to William Thomas on 10/21. She raised her family in Duxbury for 30+ years. She is survived by her beloved husband Bill of Duxbury, daughter Kristin Willner and husband Eric of Marshfield, son Kevin and wife Roi of Bolton, MA and daughter Kim of Duxbury. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren Anna, Margaret, Duncan, Meghan and Jake 9. Her sister Ann and her husband James Phelps of Concord, Her brother Lawrence Hughes of Marshfield and her sister Celeste Miller of Alexandria, Virgina. Cathy was a very talented artist, she studied at Mass College of Art and as a lifelong artist she studied with Marshall Joyce and Liz Hayward Sullivan...she was a constant student. Cathys artistic talent was shown in her many landscape paintings but she also had a quick whit that she depicted so well in many caricatutures that she shared with close friends. Cathy is described by her friends as elegant, whitty, lovely and caring. She loved international travel and enjoyed days on the beach with her dear Duxbury friends and family. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 2nd from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St (Rt. 3A), Duxbury fon Saturday, November 3rd at 11:30 AM. Interment wil be at the Mayflower cemetery in Duxbury.
