Obituary of Caitlin E. Ledwell

Caitlin Elizabeth Ledwell, 26, of Halifax, passed away tragically Saturday, October 6, 2012 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Halifax.
Caitlin was born in Weymouth, grew up in Pembroke, and resided in Halifax. She graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School in 2004 where she served as class president and captain of her cheerleading squad. Caitlin attended St. Anselm College and graduated from UMass Boston in 2009 with a Health Science and Dance Degree. She was the Director of A Dancers' World Studio of Dance Education in Pembroke and Halifax where she danced alongside her mother, Debra Ledwell and sister, Darcy Kennedy. Caitlin was a member of the Dance Teachers' Club of Boston as well as The Dance Teachers' Club of Brockton where she served as scholarship chairperson. Her passion for life was infectious and powerfully impacted all those around her, especially her family, students and friends. Caitlin loved to spend time with her family and her witty personality was loved by all. Caitlin's constant love, warmth and laughter will be incredibly missed by all those she touched. Taken from this life at such a young age, Caitlin was a true gift to all those around her.
She is survived by her parents, Paul and Debra Ledwell; her sister, Darcy Kennedy; brothers, Paul Jr. and Daniel Ledwell; brother-in-law, Sean Kennedy; Daniel's fiancee, Katie Anthony; maternal grandparents, William and Judith Maimaron; maternal great-grandfather, Paul Carlson and paternal grandparents, Alphonsus and Johanna Ledwell. She is also survived by her nephews, niece, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Thursday, October 11, from 4:00-9:00 PM.
Her funeral Mass will be held at Saint Thecla's Church, 145 Washington Street, (Route 53), Pembroke, on Friday, October 12 at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow at the Center Cemetery, Pembroke.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Caitlin's memory may be made to the Caitlin E. Ledwell Scholarship Fund, c/o Rockland Trust, 434 Plymouth Street, Halifax, MA 02338.
