Richard Joseph Bayramshian, Sr., age 76, of Duxbury, MA, died on Monday, September 17, 2012. Born in Boston, son of the late Kathe Savage and Simon Bayramshian, he was a 1953 graduate of Millis High School. Attended Storm King Prep School, New York. Earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters degree in Sociology and Education at Brown University. He served in the United States Army in the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Benning, Georgia. He served for 31 years as a Police Officer for the Town of Duxbury, serving as Sergeant for 20 years, and as Training Director, Prosecutor, and Negotiator for the department for more than 15 years. IBPO President for 6 years, working for the National IBPO for two, and a member of the Massachusetts Police Council. He has served as Plymouth County Bail Commissioner for the past 16 years. An accomplished athlete, he was awarded 'Most Outstanding Athlete' by Millis High School, and "The Headmaster's Cup" by Storm King Prep. He played baseball and football for Brown University, and was a beloved Little League baseball, football, and basketball coach. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Richard is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet M. Bayramshian, his daughter, Kathe Rowan and her husband Paul of Duxbury, his daughter, Kellie Bayramshian of Duxbury, and his son, Richard Bayramshian, Jr. and his wife Allison of Marshfield. Brother of the late Robert Bayramshian, and survived by niece, Anna Tizio and nephew, Robert Bayramshian, Jr. Loving grandfather to Molly, Evy, Kate, Jack, and Brian. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Thursday, September 20, from 4:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, on Friday, September 21 at 10:00 AM, followed by his funeral Mass at the Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Mayflower Cemetery, 774 Tremont Street, Duxbury.
