Obituary of Robert W. Van Riper

Robert W. Van Riper, 65, passed on August 13 with family by his side at his home in Pembroke. "Bobby" was born Oct. 8,1946 in Chelsea. Graduated from Quincy High School and received his bachelor's degree from Boston State College. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard Reserve and Served during the Vietnam War. He was the beloved husband of 31 years to Kathleen M. (Roche) Van Riper of Pembroke. He is also survived by his children Matthew Van Riper of Everett, Michael Van Riper of Brooklyn NY, Eric Van Riper of Norwood, Sean Van Riper of Norwood, Lindsay and Christopher Vanschenkbrill of Halifax, and brother Brian Van Riper of Pembroke, and he was the proud Papa of Ashleigh and Cameron. Bobby was a friend of Bill. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Sunday August 19 from 3-6:00 pm at Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke. A funeral service will take place at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St, Hanson, on Monday August 20th at 10:00 AM.
