Andrew Martin Williamson, age 96, of Plympton, Massachusetts and Drakes Island, Maine died July 16, 2012 at the Newfield House in Plymouth, MA. He was the husband of the late Margaret Lyon Williamson. Born in New Bedford on October 29, 1915, Andrew was the son of the late T. Wilson Williamson and Elizabeth Peirce Williamson. He was a long time resident of Plympton where he enjoyed his home and caring for a variety of animals. During World War II, he served in the Coast Guard. He was employed by the Puritan and Mabbett Mills in Plymouth followed by serving as negotiator for the National Association of Government Employees. He is survived by his daughter Alice W. Chase, her husband Bruce E. Chase, DVM and their two daughters, Elizabeth J. Chase of Middleboro, and Amy M. Mucci of Easton, as well as his nieces Martha Foster and Betsy Burrell, and his nephew T. R. Burrell. A memorial service will be held on August 4 from 2-5 p.m. at Benjamin’s Restaurant, Bay Road, Taunton, MA In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the State of Massachusetts Animal Response Team at 163 Lakeside Avenue, Marlborough, Massachusetts 01752.
