Obituary of Richard E. Harris

Richard E. Harris, of Pembroke, passed away after a long illness, on May 11, 2012, with his family by his side. He was 79 years old. Mr. Harris is Army veteran who served in the Military Police during the Korean War. Beloved husband of 55 years to Joan (Callahan) Harris. Loving father of Dana and Melissa Harris of Halifax, Wayne Harris of Pembroke, and the late Dale and George Simmons. Brother of Harry and Virginia Nordeen of Brockton, and Nancy Willis of Raynham. Cherished grandfather of Cory, Chad, Kelsey, Jessica, and Amanda, as well as 5 great grandchildren. Richard is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 14th from 4-7:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St. (Rt. 14) Pembroke. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 15th at 10:00 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home. Interment will be at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30 PM.
