To all of the Leonards:
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time..what an inspiration to all of us to combine family, friends, community service on so many committees, all of those years commuting to MIT from Duxbury as well as service in the Army...
Sincerely yours, Nicole

I'm sorry to hear of John's passing. While I haven't seen him in many years, if I'd known sooner I would have attended his service.
Many years ago I was appointed chairman of the Duxbury Finance Committee. Town government was pretty new to me and early on, when I struggled to grasp the meaning of municipal terms and numbers, several people were extremely helpful. But, none more so than John, a real an old pro. He'd been involved for many years and was fluent with the budget and all its corresponding issues.
We had a very successful town meeting that year - but it was a struggle. I've never forgotten the time John spent with me and his kindnesses as he somewhat took me under his wing and helped show me the ropes. He was a good man and I still think of him from time to time. - Bill Floyd
