Elinor M. “Nony” (Reeves) Harstedt, 88 of Duxbury MA, February 16 after a long illness. Beloved wife of the late George W. Harstedt, Jr., cherished mother of George W. Harstedt III and his wife Susan Pickering of Northport, NY, Deborah R. Harstedt and her husband David Rhodes of Wellesley, MA and Alison J. Harstedt of Duxbury, MA. Elinor is also survived by her beloved grandsons Jordan and Trevor Rhodes and her dear sisters Helen Shean of Winchester, MA, and Carolyn Dunbar of Duxbury, MA and many nieces and nephews. Elinor was predeceased by her brother Charles Reeves.
Elinor was born in Cambridge, MA to Ina Frances (Brown) and Henry Everett Reeves, raised in Winchester MA and attended Smith College. Following WWII Elinor and George moved to Long Island, NY and raised their family in Huntington Bay. They retired to Duxbury, MA in 1994. Elinor was an accomplished and devoted mom and homemaker, a valued sister and friend, and she excelled at many things, including tennis, one of her favorite pastimes.
Interment with her husband, a WWII veteran USMC, will be held at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne on Friday, March 9th at 11:15 AM.
